Every Sunday from 1 PM to ?? - Jamming at the Kellish Farm in a heated barn! Everyone is welcome. A potluck supper is served around 5 pm. Everyone and all types of acoustic, traditional music are welcome. Come join the family, play, sing along, or just sit in a rocker by the fire and listen. Suggested donation is $5.00 to cover expenses and a dish to pass for the supper.

Every Thursday: Open Mik Nite, at 7 pm: Cover songs and original music encouraged as well as all types of music styles. Come listen or bring your songs , poetry, dance and/or instruments to this special weekly event. Anyone wanting to perform with other folks is encouraged. Musical host provided if anyone needs accompaniment. Coffee and tea provided...bring munchies, or non-alcoholic beverages to share. Donations happily accepted. Come express yourself. Second Americana Music Festival weekend
Friday, May 18: Kick Off Concert...a great night of music. Nancy Maliwesky and Kathleen Gallagher Alaniz will open our Kickoff Friday Night Americana Festival. featuring the Hamilton Ramblers // Folk Strings // Dusty Pascal. Folk Strings will take us back to the Music in its early stages of the 60’s and 70’s. Then we will experience the present day prolific Folk story teller Dusty Pascal...great to hear the music and stories that bridges Folk Music of then and now. Other talented local musicians will join in. Great way to start our Festival !

  Saturday, May 19: Fiddlers' Day on the Farm with a special tribute to Hal Casey. Hal was an award winning fiddle playing celebrity, who has recently passed on and is so very missed. The day will begin with workshops on the bowed instruments by Susan Barrington of the New York State Old Tyme Fiddler's Association. Diamond Someday Bluegrass Band, Bob Halligan Jr & Joe Davoli of Ceili Rain, Lake Effect Bluegrass, Greg Hoover & Harlee Station, Patty and Henry Jankiewicz and members of The New York State Old Tyme Fiddlers Association are some of the entertainment featured this day. Our 3 day Festival receives support from the Cultural Resource Council of Onondaga County. The New York State Old Tyme Fiddlers Association has endorsed this event and it is proudly presented in association with Plank Road Magazine which connects The Towns and People of Central New York. Knoxie’s Pub and Restaurant located in Pompey is providing the food all 3 days of the Festival with chicken BBQ’s with all the fixings too.

Sunday, May 20: Gospel Day Anyone wanting to take the stage during this day long event please signup for it. Slots are already being booked for it. Originals or Old Time Standard Gospel tunes appreciated. Band folks, Pickup Bands or individuals welcomed. Come celebrate with our music family and have alot of fun doing it ! Plenty of jamming areas will be set up around the farm. Pot luck supper at 5 pm. Please bring something to pass around . You can have up to 45 minutes stage time for your set. Plan on playing and listening way into the night.

May 26, 2012 - Saturday Song Writing Inspiration Day and Kevin Barrigar with Special Guests Concert in the Evening - May 26th will be devoted to original songs and the song writing process . It will be great to share ideas and thoughts on writing song with other folks having this interest. Maybe to create a song that day by all present. We could order pizzas and hope for good weather to go outside and get inspired to write. Kevin Barrigar is a prolific writer and he will share some of his feelings on song writing this day. June 1, 2012 - Friday Baby Soda Jazz Band Concert - Baby Soda is on the cutting edge of a new movement loosely known as street jazz with an eclectic set of influences ranging from New Orleans brass bands, jug music, southern gospel and hot jazz. The ensemble doesn’t desire to recreate the past, rather they bring the concept and joy of the music to the present. Baby Soda is an adaptable and ever changing group made up of New York’s finest musicians; featuring trumpet, accordion, clarinet, washboard, banjo and one string box bass. The band can be seen regularly at some of New York’s finest venues like Cafe Moto, Barbes, The Knitting Factory and the Jalopy Theater. Promises to be a great music night for sure.

June 2, 2012 - Saturday Country Classics at Kellish Hill Music Barn, hosted by Larry Hoyt - another part of our Series featuring songs of musicians we love so dear, done by our local musicians. Hear the music of Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline and George Jones. The event will consist of a Classic Country Jam - open to all pickers & singers, followed by local musicians taking our stage for 3 song limit (maximum 15 minutes). Finally, we will conclude the night featuring Larry Hoyt and the Country Classics, with Special Guest vocalist Lorrie Sheaks Royal; plus Dana "Short Order " Cooke (mandolin & vocals); Judy Stanton (violin); Mark Petrie (bass), Bob Fleming (guitar & vocals); and Eileen Rose (vocals). 5 pm Jam

March 24, 2012 Lodge Concert at Kellish Hill Farm with Larry Hoyt and Special Guests and featuring Lacey Lee - starts with a pot luck supper (bring something to share), followed by an acoustic jam and concert. featuring singer/songwriter Larry Hoyt, performing many originals and crowd favorites; plus Special Guests; plus harpist Lacey Lee performing songs from her debut CD, "You and Me."

Ryan McGiver and Jessie Smith in Concert - Kellish Hill Farm is proud to have this fine duo perform here, made possible in part by support from CNY Chapter of the Irish American Cultural Institute, Kitty Hoynes Irish Pub and Restaurant, CNY Irish Cultural Society and the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 2 Syracuse. The duo features an all-star and eclectic mixture of traditional and Indie-folk music. Fiddle player, Jesse Smith was born into a musical family. His mother Donna Long has recorded and performed with, most notably, Brendan Mulvihill and the American-based band, Cherish the Ladies. His dad John sings and plays the guitar. Jesse grew up immersed in the Irish music tradition having spent his childhood surrounded by many of the great Irish American musicians. Ryan McGiver’s debut album, ‘Troubled in Mind’, is a Indie-folk record of imaginative musical interpretations of old Appalachian ballads. Co-produced by Shahzad Ismaily (Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Marc Ribot), the collaboration results in a spiritual, often meditative music, with a haunting quality that draws from sources as diverse as Buell Kazee, Levi Smith, Annie Watson, Washington Phillips, Neil Driscoll and Randy Newman.

Reyna and Putter play an eclectic Americana mix of bluegrass, folk, country, blues and more - on mandolin and guitar - originals and cover tunes. Potluck Dinner at 6 pm so bring something to pass. John Wolford with special guest Brian Coyne Lodge Concert - An evening of solo acoustic original music by John Wolford (and maybe a little Neil Young thrown in). John is excited about adding Brian to this show. He brings an energy level and emotion to his music that you don't want to miss. His twists on cover songs will have your feet tapping and his originals will leave you wanting more. John W. has such an insightful way with his music . December 9, 2011 Songwriters Night Fund Raiser for the Kellish Hill Farm An evening that should not be missed. Four of the most prolific song writers of the CNY area are converging at Kellish Hill to show support for the music perpetuated at Kellish Hill Music Farm. Loren Barrigar, Dusty Pascal, John Cadley and Greg Hoover will share their songs, the stories and the method of creating their music. December 3, 2011 Fractured Christmas Fairy Tale at Kellish Hill Farm This will not be an ordinary Christmas party... The audience are applauded to participate in it as well. Come celebrate the season with a musical written by members of Kellish Hill Farm... Our local musicians will be the cast with other players as well..many surprise performers will appear. Whispering Tree in concert - Over the past six years, classically trained vocalist Eleanor Kleiner and French bassist Elie Brangbour have traveled the world on an adventure that began when the two met at the London Center of Contemporary Music in 2004. Deli Magazine called them "one of the most talented duos to take the stage in NYC" and Keyboard Magazine says they "tastily combine wistful folk, mellow rock and pinches of gypsy jazz and bluegrass into a compelling compilation of tightly written tunes." They have been showcased twice at Falcon Ridge Folk Festival and won first place in the Songdoor International Songwriting Competition. We're pleased to have them come to Kellish Hill Farm. Georges Pro Sound presents American Guitar Masters: Peter Janson and Larry Pattis, at the Kellish Hill Farm - These master guitar players have toured the world with their music. Larry Pattis is named one of the “Top 10 Best Acoustic Music Artists of the Decade” by the International Acoustic Music Awards. Peter Janson is a “gifted acoustic fingerstyle guitar player” (Dirty Linen), and the winner of the “Best Contemporary Instrumental Album” in the 2006 NAR Lifestyle Music Award. September 10, 2011 Linda McRae concert - Return performance to Kellish Hill Farm. Linda performs primarily as a solo artist on claw hammer banjo, acoustic guitar, porchboard, accordion and vocals. Her reputation as a quality songwriter and a compelling and unique performer is steadily gaining momentum. In 2008, Linda’s musical journey took her to Nashville where she currently resides. In 2009 she was invited to perform at the hallowed Carter Family Fold premiering a new song honoring the legacy of Maybelle Carter. The melodrama presented this time is called “Here Come the Cows" by Tim Kelly. The story is about a villian, a vixen, a damsel in distress, saved from the cow stampede by her cowboy hero. August 28, 2011 Community Drum circle (same time as our Sunday jam but in different location on the farm) Community Drum Circle at Kellish Hill Farm Music Barn. Drum circles are planned once a month and are opened to all ages. Extra drums and hand percussion instruments for those who would like to participate but do not have instruments of your own. Come and join in the fun...playing, singing, listening, or even dancing! This is a family event, no alcohol or pets please! $5 donation appreciated towards Pow Wow event planned for Sept. 2011.

Dar Williams at the Farm: A Family Friendly Event - Redhouse, in conjunction with the Kellish Farm brings this favorite among the adult-alternative set. Dar Williams has a unique voice that can dance from lyrical and ethereal to playful and gritty. Her lyrics are funny, sharp, lively and fresh, yet they include thoughtful insight into life, the environment, gender and other complex issues. Williams is a literate singer-songwriter with a genuine gift as a storyteller. She weaves word-poems with a catchy beat and a catchy tune. She has been described as a synthesis of the Indigo Girls, Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez.

August 11, 2011 Ernie Evans and the Florida State Bluegrass Band - It is a pleasure to have Ernie Evans grace Kellish Hill Music Barn’s stage again this year. Ernie’s music abilities are far reaching and his new band is a very powerful Bluegrass act. Ernie’s lengthy resume has had him recently being a member of the Grammy nominated  Bluegrass Band Valerie Smith and Liberty Pike.
August 10, 2011 Songwriting Circle with Mark Zane and friends - Hosted this evening by Mark Zane . Five songwriters featuring Wendy Ramsey, Larry Hoyt, Jacque Kofi, Rory O’Bannion and Mark Zane will be performing in the round and discussing the song writing process.

This is big folks! Lizzy Long and Little Roy Lewis !!!! in a concert to kick off our First American Music Festival July 22nd thru the 24th 2011 here at Kellish Hill Farm. Little Roy Lewis was a member of the Lewis Family, the legendary bluegrass gospel group that retired in 2009. Instrumentally Little Roy is one of the most talented banjo and guitar players in the music business. In June 2009 Little Roy teamed up musically with multi talented daughter Lizzy Long. Lizzy plays fiddle, guitar, banjo and alternates between these instruments. We do love our Bluegrass roots so check out  their web site at www.littleroyandlizzy.com.

June 25, 2011 Charley Orlando CD release Party - You just never know what you'll get with a Charley Orlando show! His journey has brought him to a new sound he likes to call "Organica Groove" where he builds a landscape of sounds and groove on the fly with Ableton Live and his computer. All this accompanied by a voice, acoustic guitar and harmonica. It truly is an original adventure. Pulling from an original song catalog of 200+ songs and 100+ covers he travels a different path every night and always 100% from the heart. Having released 11 albums and 1 EP since 1992 Orlando continues his prolific career with 2 new releases in 2011 and we are honored to have a CD release party here at Kellish Hill Farm. Due out in time for his Summer Tour Charley plans to release a double CD of "Organica Groove" and "Folk Style" tunes followed by a tribute album to Bob Dylan.... so plan on coming out for Charley Orlando’s CD release party  here at Kellish Hill Music Farm. This show will take us on a great magical music ride you do not want to miss!
May 21, 2011 Charley Orlando and RUHA - RUHA's line up of Crissy Noel, Brian Lauri and Charley Orlando will take the stage at Kellish Hill Farm on this night of music that will fill the music barn with all the magic this band does make. Charley, Crissy and Brian enjoy playing at the farm for the atmosphere this place holds.
May 18, 2011 Loren Barrigar and Mark Mazengarb...Mark Mazengarb is a world class finger-picker from New Zealand. Loren Barrigar is Central New York's Premier Finger stylist on guitar. This duo  graced our stage last year for a sold out performance. Unbelievable talent as Mark Bialczak from The Post Standard reports, “World Class Guitar Playing”. Great timing for this winning concert because May 1 was the release date for Loren Barrigar and Mark Mazengarb Duo Album. Definitely a winning combination.
May 14, 2011 Donna Colton, Mark Zane and Sam Patterelli in Concert - Mark's original songs analyze American life through a sympathetic, yet sometimes, critical eye. He also writes and performs autobiographically inspired songs about love and aspirations, and everyday occurrences, as well as throws in periodic cover songs from artists such as Bob Marley, Todd Snider, Green Day, and others. Mark has been performing as a solo act, as well as with additional musicians in Central and Western New York and he's always interested in expanding his performance locations.

Donna Colton and the Troublemakers are a tangle of many genres; Acoustic Rock/Folk/Pop/Alt Country with a touch of Blues. They are based out of Central New York and play clubs, small theaters and do the “Gazebo Tour” in the summer.With five CD’s to their credit, they write and record their own songs and have been nominated and won various music awards. They are lucky enough to know other local songwriters who have let them record their tunes as well. Great to see these two acts come together at Kellish Hill Farm for one night of entertainment at its finest.

Rise to the Occasion: Kellish Hill Fund Raiser - Come on out for the day to support a grass roots organization, the Kellish Hill Music Farm. Help raise funds for necessary improvements for our big July event: the First Annual American Music Festival July 22nd-24th 2011. We honor our local musicians and the different styles of music they play. Please come on out and support our endeavors ...raising funds to keep the music flowing on this Hill. Please bring a dish for the pot luck dinner served at 6 pm.

We are going to have 2 stages happening Saturday afternoon, one in the music barn and other under tents out front in our park setting area. Salt City Ramblers, Charley Orlando, and Atlantic Flyway Performing at Kellish Hill Farm - The Kellish Hill music barn is going to be hopping with acoustic Americana music! Fiddler Andrea Asprelli is back in town for a one night-only guest appearance, and will be kicking off the show with a special performance from Atlantic Flyway. Singer-songwriter and bandleader Charley Orlando will be giving audiences an intimate solo acoustic show of his nationally performed originals, as well as some well placed cover tunes. Rounding out the night will be the new and improved Salt City Ramblers, featuring Steve Scuteri and Jason Borisoff on guitars and vocals, Ben Lane on mandolin, Blake Propst on the bass fiddle, and the sharp-dressed Josh Seitz on the five-string banjo. Community Drum Circle The Distant Drums of the Rolling Hills Pow-Wow Committee is hosting a community drum circle that is open to the public.Three hours of music enjoyment! Community drum circles are designed for entire families and drop-in participants of all ages! This is an excellent family activity and an opportunity to let your spirit soar while honoring the heartbeat of Mother Earth. Bring your own drum or instrument if you have one. There will be drums available for use. The community drum circle is an informal gathering of people who meet for the purpose of playing hand drums together. Instrumentation centers on drums and percussion, but may include other instruments, such as flutes, didgeridoos, and other non-percussion instruments. The music is entirely improvised through a process of group interaction. Participation is voluntary and includes drumming, singing or chanting, dancing, and listening. Please plan on attending and joining in the fun.

Kimberley Fraser - Kimberly Fraser is master of Celtic fiddling, step dancing, and piano from Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia, where the traditional style has been well preserved. Kimberley has shared the stage with the finest acts in Celtic music, such as Alasdair Fraser, Martin Hayes and Lunasa. Her reputation as a teacher has brought her to conduct workshops at many camps and festivals, including Alasdair Fraser’s Valley of the Moon Fiddle Camp, the Swannanoa Gathering in Asheville, North Carolina, and The American Festival of Fiddle Tunes in Port Townsend, Washington to name a few.

Andrea is moving out of state. She has performed in many bands in the CNY area and has been the booking agent here at Kellish Hill Music . She leaves behind a major void in our lives musically and personally. Rachel Eddy and Kristian Herner. Rachel is an old-time fiddle, banjo, and guitar player from Morgantown, WV, who has recently re-located to Stockholm, Sweden. She spent 2 months last fall in Germany touring with the Klangwelten music group. After surviving the Swedish winter she's headed back to Germany on a tour with Uncle Earl. She'll be performing with Kristian Herner from the Rockridge Brothers, debuting their first duo album, Chilly Winds! Rachel has performed in several configurations over the years playing both Old-time and Irish music, including the Morgantown Rounders, The Woodticks, Stewed Mulligan and a trio w/Adam Hurt and Abe Folmsbee.

Winners of the 2008 first annual Delfest (as in McCoury, folks) bluegrass band competition and finalists in the 2008 neo-traditional string band contest in Clifftop, WV, the band is spreading their music beyond the cow-speckled Lancaster County cornbelt they call home.
